You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. The anime only covers up to volume 6 of the novel. Akumu no sumu ie/The house in which nightmares dwell novels are chronologically volumes 9 and 10 in the original novel series. Vol 7 & 8 contain some very important developments. Keep in mind this was posted in 2007, so it's not exactly up to date. ^^ The Akuryou series is already rewritten in 2010-2011.
